A Few Things You Should Know About Me

I get accused many times of being a spoiled rich kid, from the nice part of town, who is out of touch with reality.

I want you to know, that just isn't true.  I want you to understand, that I have seen the government and educational system from the inside out, and I don't like it.  I have left out much of my story, because it isn't appropriate to speak of.

So, before you form an opinion of me...there are a few things you should know about me:

I was born to two teenage parents.  My mom was 16, my dad was 18.

I come from a broken home, my parents had a bitter, angry divorce when I was 7.

I have been homeless 2 times in my life.  Both for several months at a time.

My wonderful mother died when I was 14.  She cannot be replaced.  I miss her dearly.

I lived with my dad and brother for awhile after my mothers death.

Child Protective Services took my brother and I out of our dad's home and put us in a foster home, where our foster parents used and sold drugs out of their home.  Child Protective Services never checked up on us after placing us there...NEVER!

I was a 17 year old mom and wife.

I have 5 children from 18 years on down to 6 years.

I have been married to my high school sweetheart for almost 19 years.

I became a follower of Jesus Christ after my marriage.

My children attended public school for several years.

I served on the PTA (I shudder at the memories)

I volunteered time at the schools.

I've seen the system as a child, and as an adult with children in the system.  I didn't like it either time.

Hubby and I decided to home educate our children 9 years ago.

Our oldest (our only girl) is in college, my boys are working toward that goal.  My 16year old son helped me build this website, with a bit of help on the buttons from my daughter's friend Zach.

My other kids love learning as well, catching bugs, butterflies, studying plants, rocks and animals.  And My 13 year old son loves to do back flips and study animals, and is an avid rock hound.

We take Tae Kwan Do, and Ballroom Dancing as a family.

I am a self-taught poet, and love teaching classes at our local home education center; about creative writing and poetry.  I also enjoy oil painting, and acrylics.  I look forward to teaching those classes in the near future at the center as well.
